- Wine can be foreseen as quite a boring topic, what makes your International Wine Challenge different?
- We try and create an electric atmosphere in the room which takes away the stuffiness sometimes associated with wine. We also try to create a really competitive atmosphere to get everyone's pulses racing.
- Quite a lot of people do not know a huge amount about wine, is this a problem?
- This is no problem at all. It is great to have a balance of "Winos" and novices in the room. There is expert advice on hand to help those who need it and a selection of red herrings to put those who are too good off course!! Throughout the evening we like to strike a balance between fun and competitive integrated with a little education so people learn by stealth. By the end of the night everyone knows more than they did when they first arrived.
- Can you use other wines apart from yours?
- No, we have a very in depth knowledge of all the wines we use. We work very closely with all the wineries, knowing all the winemakers very well. This means we learn more about their production methods, whether that is out in the vineyard or in the winery. It also makes us even more passionate in a job that we all love.
- How long do the events last?
- Our fabulous International Wine Challenges tend to last for one and a half hours. This does not include a Champagne reception to start with which can last up to 45 minutes. Other events can be tailored around you requirements.
- Is there a minimum group size?
- There is a minimum group size of 20 people for the International Wine Challenge so we can create a really electric atmosphere. Our Bespoke Wine Events can be suitable for fewer than 20 people. Ask us for details.
- Is there a minimum spend?
- There is a minimum spend of £1000 ex vat. This is based on 20 people at £50 per head.
- How much do the events cost?
- The costs vary according to the type of event you choose and the quality of the wines you would like. Our International Wine Challenges start at £50 per head for the Bronze level. Contact us for more details.
- Do you only do events in London?
- The majority of our events are based in London, but we are more than happy to run events outside of London subject to size and distance travelled. We even do events internationally, and have run events in New York.
- Can I buy the wines that we taste?
- Absolutely, all the wines that we show at our Wine Challenges can be found on our online shop: www.jascots.co.uk.
- Can you recommend venues outside London?
- Yes. Whilst all the venues listed on our website are in London, we are more than happy to research and recommend venues across the country.
- Do you do non-wine events?
- As a Wine Merchant and specialist Wine Events Company all our events revolve around wine.
